    Engineering Physics? That's a unique choice! However, to hold a degree in Engineering Physics you must have interest and knowledge in the profession. Although the seats are limited, teaching faculty for Engineering Physics is excellent in the IITs. The placement record for this engineering branch is also good in the IIT Madras. After finishing Engineering Physics from one of the IITs, scholars have immense job opportunities. Selection in IIT placements means a job in best companies and excellent remuneration package.     IIT Madras is one of the well reputed institutions in India and one of the old IITs. So it attracts lots of good companies for placements and the statistics are pretty good as such.
    For 2016, for Engineering Physics, 16 students registered for placements out of which 10 were placed (BE). The percentage of students placed was 62.5 percent as such.
    The packages offered for Engineering Physics students were in the range between 6 LPA to 21 LPA. The average package was between 6-8 LPA (approx). Many students also opted for roles in Management, Finance and Consulting. If you see the placement report you will find many banks including Credit

    Although IITs are known for its excellence and remarkable work to serve the quality and skilled students. But still, the engineering physics, when seen from the academic perspective, is marvelous. The students find and enjoy a lot when it comes to research and advance studies which can be seen obvious from the southern culture of academics linked with IIT Madras.

    Hi,
    Engineering physics department at IIT-M has collaborated with the electrical department.
    You will be introduced to physics courses like quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, solid state physics, statistical physics, etc. Maths is the language of physics so in each semester you have courses from maths and some electrical department courses and also EP lab etc. EP is research oriented branch so after four years you can go for research and development in physics. You also have an option of going for higher studies in physics or EP or electrical.
