As you are from commerce background advisable would be that you go for B.Com, or Bachelors in economics or statistics and then plan to choose courses like Actuarial, CA or M. Com. However, I do understand that your interest lies in Management programme but an MBA is only be fruitful in case you go for a full time MBA from a decent Management Institute like IIMs or MDI, S.P.Jain etc. and as due to your financial problem it would be difficult to get into such institutes which have whooping fee structure of 10 to 13 lakhs, you may try for options which probably would be more in reach.

As every individual is different with its own set of capabilities, the preparation time period would differ from person to person. However, an Average student would take 6 months to a year to crack these MBA Entrance Examinations so depending on your capabilities and power to grasp you can calculate how much time you are going to take. So, the sooner you start the better it is.
