The pattern of the Quant section of MBA CET 20 exam is as follows
DI - 18 marks
Maths - 13 marks
Quant Comparison (Quadratic Equation) - 4 marks
Quant Comparison (Arithmetic) - 5 marks
Calculations - 5 marks
Number Series - 5 marks
This is a tentative paper pattern and there was variation in different slots. Based on the above the focus of preparation for Quant section for CET has to be DI. Which usually has weightage ranging from 18 to 24 marks in recent exams. There is limited type of DI questions (unlike Maths and can be easily improved with practice. Similar logic holds true for Quantitative comparison and Calculations. With limited practice there can be immense improvement in these areas. Number series can also be improved with practice. There are tough number series questions in the exam, but 4/5 questions can be cracked with practice. So the focus should be these 37 questions
Maths has 13 questions. But the problem is that the syllabus is vast and no matter how much you practice, you will still have questions that you may find that you are not able to solve. I would recommend that students who find Maths difficult should focus on other areas of Quant section and other sections as in the exam you may not have time to solve the Quant section and it may take time. For students who are average or comfortable with Maths can focus on Arithmetic section (Average, Percentage, P&L, Interest, Ratio, TSD, Work, etc. ). As 10/13 questions were from these topics. Now this is based on CET20 pattern. There is variation every year.
