Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. Yes, After completing your 3 year Diploma you can get direct admission in B.Tech 2nd year through lateral entry. Almost every college provide admission through lateral entry if you start Diploma just after 10 you will have two Certificate I. e. Diploma and degree both withing a time span of 6 years wheres your friends will end up with degree. Eligibility for Diploma students to get admission through lateral entry.

Yes, there are some chances for you to get some NITs like Goa, Hamirpur, etc. according to previous year official closing and opening ranks.
As you have qualified JEE Mains and your category rank is also decent, you can get some NITs.

This link gives the previous year ranks for each NIT , IIIT, etc. These ranks vary each year so that this may give you an idea.

Average placement is somewhere between Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. However, if you do good in the interview you may end up getting anywhere between Rs 6 to Rs 7 lakh and even more.

Actually both are same. Some institutions have given the course the first name and some other has named it the latter one. The study modules are almost the same.
