Your choice is good but without mathematics, it is not successful in electrical or computer engineer. A few knowledge in mathematics and you can get big success as mathematics has a role in writing the program.

Your previous studies hardly matters in engineering as they start every thing from zero. Follow your interest and look for the best branch possible. Since, you are good in maths, it may help you. My suggestion would be that don't go for mechanics.

Hi Sagar,
For Institute level seats, please call up the college once the CAP rounds start to know about the current year's process. Last year (2016), applications were taken telephonically once the MAH-CET results were declared and candidates were notified by the college of their interview details and procedures. However, to be on the safer side, you should keep checking with the college.
On the basis of last year's cut-off, you have a decent chance. You should apply anyway.
I hope this helps.

Yes, you can try for several branches like biomedical, biotechnology, integrated M.Sc; you can opt for internal sliding to move to other courses after central counseling. This year NIT-Rourkela is introducing the branch change option after first year. If you are particularly interested in one branch and can maintain a CGPA of 8.5 and above, you will stand a good chance of getting upgraded to a branch of your choice.

If you are thinking about a high-paying salary, the major difference is that biotechnology is a broad field. In this course, you will study about a lot of different subsets of biotechnology, that are bioinformatics, plant biology, animal biology, biochemistry, genetics and heredity, etc.
Microbiology is (somewhat) a type of specialisation. If you do choose B.Sc Microbiology you are confined to a type of field only for your Master's degree, but don't take my word for it. As I said earlier, different universities have a different syllabus and teaching styles too.

Vedatya Institute is an institute, which is affiliated to IGNOU and is a part of Radisson Blu Hotel. Faculties here are, itself from the industry and are experienced. So, the mode of learning is not books, rather we get knowledge from their real life experiences. Learning here is so fun that at a point, you think you are a part of a small family. It is a huge campus, and number of extra co-curricular activities are there.
