Of course NIT's are better as they are government institutions. Thapar University and VIT Vellore are private institutions. No doubt they have a good reputation specially VIT Vellore but I would suggest to go for NIT Jalandhar.

I am not sure but any college giving admission on the basis of 12th marks won't have good placements. You can go into UPES or BVP.

Hi Mrutunjaya,
Options are science are typically:
B.E./B.Tech
B.Sc
BCA
B.Sc IT
B.Arch
BBA
etc
You will be eligible for most private college where minimum eligibility is 50%. What is best for you is something you have to figure out. Its a personal choice, you have to know your aptitude and skills. If you are poor in maths then engineering is not a good option for you. Choose wisely.

Hello,
Both are good field but CSE have slightly more value in comparison to IT. An IT career involves installing, organizing and maintaining computer systems as well as designing and operating networks and databases. Computer Science is focused entirely on efficiently programming computers using mathematical algorithms.
