Eligibility:-The eligibility criteria for admission to Travel and Tourism courses at the undergraduate level is, higher secondary examination pass. There are graduate level, postgraduate level, diploma and certification courses available to pursue in the industry. The post-graduate degree awarded is Master of Tourism Administration (MTA), which is a two year full time programme approved by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. Proficiency in at least one foreign language is an added advantage apart from a diploma in public relations or advertising. There are also many correspondence courses available in this field to pursue. Officers in the Directorate and Departments of Tourism are recruited from among the candidates who have done civil service, drawn from the Civil/administrative services of the State and Central governments. A degree in travel and tourism is required for operational jobs in government organisations.

If you are looking for a successful career in journalism, I would suggest you to go for a degree program from a reputed Mass Comm school. Although, the Institutes providing Mass Comm & Journalism courses have a higher fee structure then the normal graduate program but every panny spent is worthwhile. I would also suggest, before getting into this program understand that this field is very challenging & you need to have perseverance and focused approach to be successful. Apart from this you need to be creative, dynamic, enterprising, flair to project your ideas, thoughts, observation through different mediums of communication. If you have all these qualities you can accomodate yourself comfortably in this industry.

Well Retail and Fashion are quite different from each other and choosing among the two would depend on your career interest. Retail does not enters in designing but fashion is channelized through retail outlets. If you are keen to get in the retailing business of fashion/ designing/ apparels etc then pursuing retail management would be a good career option else you may continue in fashion designing as this too holds bright career opportunities.
