Start with economics and polity. Because once you understand the fundamentals of these subjects you will be able to comprehend newspaper in a better way.
For economics NCERT class 12th Macroeconomic book is a must for concept building. Finish it in a week and then move to Ramesh Singh's Indian Economy for Civil Services.
Simultaneously with economics or after that pick up Indian Polity for Civil Services by M Laxmikant. Polity is very important subject IAS and this book is sufficient for prelims.
After that you can move to history or geography. For modern history everyone recommends Bipin Chandra's book. But don't neglect Spectrum's book written by Rajiv Aheer. It's thinner, more exam oriented and easy to revise.
In geography first build your concept in physical geography using Goh Cheng Leong. Then read NCERT's 11th and 12th book.
Keep reading The Hindu news paper everyday. Miss a meal but not this.
Now this is not enough, just a head start. Once you are done with this you can choose your optional and find out the way forward yourself.

If you prefer activities which concern people. and have interest in recognizing the needs of mankind and contributing to their welfare;and like solving real problems, taking on responsibility, interacting with people, verbal communication, persuasion and control.Then only you may concider to become a journalist; the proffesion is called by Journalism.
Journalism is the business of giving news. Journalists work for newspapers, magazines, regional dailies, the electronic medium, websites and for government & public sector publications. The print medium holds an important role in our lives, providing the latest news and acting as a forum for addressing public issues and grievances.
Only doing a pertiqular course from any university or an institute ,you may not become a Journalist.
Along with the above mentioned aptitude you ma take any of the following cources:
BJMC,MJMC, Media Studies, PG Diploma in Broadcast Journalism,Print Journalism.etc.
Since now a days field of journalism is quite specialised such as Business, Finance, Economics,Political,Science journalism .etc.So my advice to you that before doing a journalism course at post graduation please do a graduation in core subject like economics , finance ,english etc.
India is not a great place where industry ready journalism courses offered (exceptions are there).
Be carefull ,when choosing a course and college.
