With a Masters degree in Software Engg. one can secure career opportunities in all major MNC, but then M.Sc degree lacks the technical edge which is more often required by the IT industries for areas like Programming, Hardware, Networking etc.But then this does not mean that you have any less options, majorly the M.Sc pass outs are required in the Education and Research field, which in itself is a huge discipline.
One can also get in DBMS, MIS sector as well, also one can take up some short term courses to get in a career like hardware/ networking, IT security etc.

If your son wants to pursue a bachelors degree in multimedia and animation, he should target the following universities:
1) California State University(Fullerton)
2) University of Texas at Dallas
3) John Hopkins University
4) Vancouver College of Art and Design
5) New York Film Academy
Your son will have to take the SAT and target a score above 2000 to get admissiom in the above mentioned universities as they are one of the best universities in US for animation and multimedia.
