Well it depends on individual student's interest. If you have the dedication to learn a new subject, and a passion for numbers, then you're in the game. The basics of the subject is very thoroughly taught. Special online courses are also arranged for students. More over the teachers are always available to clear doubts. At the end of all, what surprises you would be that, most of the top scorers in finance would be B Tech students.

Yes B Tech freshers do get placed in finance profiles. It depends entirely on you. How good you are at the subject, how smartly you can work out a given problem, how quick you respond to situations during the placement rounds, how well you would be able to impress the interviewers, how you stand out from the commerce graduates etc. But yes, the competition definitely gets a little tougher because there is a chance of the interviewer comparing you with your colleagues, the key is to work harder.
The average CTC offered here for most of the specializations would be 6L-7L
