A degree course will always have a better scope and position in the job market than a Diploma & the degree will always be beneficial and give you more job opportunities than a diploma. As far as the scope of Geoinformatics is concerned GIS is emerging as one of the best technologies to understand and solve problems associated with a geographic dimension. GIS has a variety of uses right from, archaeology, geology, health, land information system, military, urban and rural development, telecommunication, power, water resource, natural and man made disasters, oil and natural gas, banking and insurance, business geographic, mobile mapping, etc. It provides job opportunities in varied fields.
The current number of trained Geo-technical professionals is not sufficient to cater to the current and future need of the industry. There is a wide gap in demand and supply. The trained manpower in GIS is badly needed for many industries. So the scope is quite evident.

It is very much valuable and accepted globally as well. Collecting degree is not enough u must have practically sound also. First of all i would like tu suggest u that whatever u r doing do it thoroughly. Clear ur fundamental concepts. It should not be like that making second floor without any foundations. Industry requires Technically sound professionals not the theoretical persons. Instead of collecting degree take any International Certifications with u in less amount of time which helps u more. Lots of career lines are there in IT industry as well. System Admin, Network Admin, Security Admin, Database Admin, Software Developer, Web Developer and many more. Most of the Servers are running on Linux Servers. If u choose Linux platform as ur career option will be the futuristic approach. RHCE, RHCSS, RHCEV, JBOSS, LAMP, WAMP, XAMP CCNA, MCSE, JCP, OCP are some of the Leading Specialization areas where u can get some International kind of quality Certification. Don't u think that after getting Technically qualified Certification u will get high salaried technical JOB?

As mentioned that you have done your diploma in Advertising and PR. I would first suggest you to join any AD firm as a trainee so that you gain some professional experience which is very essential in this industry. Then for your higher studies i would say that if you have done your graduation then you can pursue Masters in journalism or media management and for further details, kindly provide me with your educational qualifications so that i can provide relevant options because options also depend on your educational background.
