It's good to have dreams. But merely having dreams is not enough. One has to study hard work hard to achieve dreams. Normally any country allows immigration only if you are amongst the best. Your marks in graduation are a bit on lower side. I advise you to approach an agency dealing with sending students to Canada to work out details.

Syllabus for GATE is that of graduation. Hence you cannot do much preparation in 2nd year of engineering. However, you will help yourself a great deal if you work hard for your present classes and score consistently more than 75%. This in itself is preparation for GATE.
