The Indian Institute of Management Shillong will be inviting candidates for admission to its campus for PGP 2017-2019 on the basis of CAT 2016 score and GD/PI performance.
The sectional cut-off of CAT exam has been fixed at 70 percentile, while minimum Graduation percentage sought is 65 per cent.
IIM Shillongs admission process will take place in two phases. In the first phase, the candidates will be selected for GD/PI rounds. In the second phase, a final merit list will be prepared on the basis of which admissions will be offered.

Eligibility for PGP:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Differently Abled (DA) or Persons with Disabilities (PWD) category, this is relaxed to 45%)
A candidate appearing for the final year Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year/is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PWD category) based on latest available grades/marks.

Both fields have comparable scope. You should pursue a course which you feel comfortable doing. Consult with your peers and try to gather more information regarding course syllabus and subjects which will be studied in either course. This should help you gauge whether you will be interested in the course. Pursue a course where your interests lie.
