Post the completion of your graduate degree you will require to qualify an entrance (PSC/ other department exams like CRPF/CISF etc depending on vacancies available) and only after qualifying this exam you shall be entitled for the posts.
To pursue a career in Police Services/ Law Enforcement, the minimum qualification required is a Graduate degree in any discipline. To start a career in police as Group A and Group B (Higher Ranks) officer one must clear the three rounds of Indian Police Services (IPS) exam that is conducted once in every year. This written and interview exam for the recruitment of Group A and Group B officers in police is conducted through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Other than UPSC, State level Public Service Commission (like Karnataka PSC) also provides an opportunity for graduates by recruiting officers in the rank of Police Sub- Inspectors (PSI) (i.e. under Group C).
