For admission in engineering college, you will have to appear state entrance exam or AIEEE entrance exam or JEE-IIT for any private/government, National Institutes of Technologies or IITs respectively. Depending upon marks obtained in any of these exams or all of them, counselling at your choice college takes place in which you will have to choose branch of studies. The popular branches are:-
Computer science, electronics & communication, electrical, mechanical, civil, electronics & instrumentation, electronics & electrical etc.
During the first year, in each semester, you will study 5 subjects each and which are common to all branches. The subjects are:-
