Since you are interested in UPSC, i would like to say that their are two stages that you need to clear- preliminary exam and main exam. In order to prepare for UPSC the minimum requirement is graduation from a recognized university and the age group is 21-30yrs. For your preparation i would suggest you to first join a good coaching center so that you have the relevant study material to start your preparation. Now lets come to the most important part that is self study which is very essential as IAS or UPSC exams are not that easy to crack and to crack the exam you really have to prioritize your time. For self study you can start with reading newspapers and books related to current affairs and Gk, if you want you can refer to Manorama Year book which is one good book for GK and current affairs.

Firstly you have not mentioned any information related to your education qualification based on which I could have provided you with the course options that you would be eligible to pursue.
There are many Universities in India which are offering Correspondence education and these Universities have their study centers all over the country including Hyderabad. You can look for courses like MCA, M.Sc in IT, M.Tech in IT or MBA in IT through the correspondence mode depending on its eligibility criteria.

hello Subhamoy.yes its correct that electrical and mechanical are the best and evergreen branches but think on it u love computer science then how difficult it would be for u to make up ur mind to switching ur interest.i mean if u love comp sci and if u r good at it then surely go on for comp sci. dont think about the availability of jobs in future why dont u take it positively that in future u can start ur own software or hardware business.also what the point in doing those things which u dont like cause toady or tomorow u will feel what the hell i have done with my life it could have been better with going with comp sci.look into future its full of technologies robotics which again requires a computer engg for their programming.so think again evaluate urself on the level of ur strenght and weaknesses.if not possible to u try it by askng the people closer that what they found in u thru ur behaviour.and afterall its ur life and ur decision.
