Hi Suyog, India holds a UPSC examination every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IPS officers are recruited.
IPS means Indian Police Services and is basically meant for those aspiring candidates who have strong dedication towards the country. The Indian Police Services are responsible for internal security, public safety and law and order.
To be eligible:
1) A candidate should have a degree of graduation in any field from any recognized university.
2) A candidate in his final year is also eligible for the civil services exam. (IPS, IFS, IAS)
3) A candidate's age must be between 21 to 30 years. 3 and 5 YEARS of RELAXATION for OBC and SC/ST respectively.
4) A candidate must be an indian citizen.
5) Number of attempts:
*Four of general candidate
*Seven for OBC candidate
*No limit on attempts for SC/ST candidate.
