Hi Pritam, the aviation sector is growing at a rapid pace. To help you solve the query, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers ( AME ) work in the engineering and maintenance department of an airline to ensure the availability of a safe and airworthy aircraft for an airline.
A course in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is not a degree but a license course and only those institutes approved by the DGCA can impart training in this subject.
This training course in rigorous and only a few institutes offer training on heavy aircraft and jet engines. Total training cost will be around 1.5 lakh.
A student from the science stream with a minimum of 50% (some institutes need 60%) in class 12th is eligible for a 3 year certificate course on aircraft maintenance engineering conducted by training schools approved by the DGCA.
The course can be pursued at institutes like :
