Hi,
In order to apply for the US visa, you would need an admission offer in your hand as well as receive the I-20 document from the university. Once you have an admission offer and I-20, you can apply for a visa interview by:
a) Filling the DS-160 and taking out bar code print out
b) Taking bar code receipt from HDFC bank after paying the required fee.
c) Pay SEVIS fee
Once you have done the above 3, you can fix a visa interview appointment.
Hope my answer has solved your query. If it has, kindly mark it as best answer.

Hi Pravin, TOEFL is Test Of English as a Foreign Language. The exam is basically to test the test takers English language abilities. There are 3 types of TOEFL exams : paper based, computer based and IBT. The IBT is more common these days than the other 2. The TOEFL IBT is conducted 30-40 times a year at authorized test centres throughout the world. On an average, the TOEFL is conducted 3 times a month on different dates. Incase the TOEFL IBT is not offered in a specific location, a paper based test can be taken. TOEFL is valid for 2 years from the date of the test.
