Depending on the field of your work, the courses, training and certifications required may vary. Most departments and agencies prefer candidates who have taken some vocational training or who have at least some previous work experience. Certain careers in government like fire fighting jobs may require you to pass a civil services examination.
To be eligible to sit for IAS (Indian Administrative Services) Exam conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year, one needs to be:
An Indian National Citizen
A graduate in any discipline from a recognized university and
Between the age limit of 21 to 30 years.
There would be two papers in prelims- Reasoning Aptitude and English Comprehension. Followed by the main exam that would entirely be subjective.
