Thapar University is not that good now as it was 8-10 years back. It is now a common private college with unusually high fees. It's placement record has decreased. IIIT is better than Thapar University in terms of placements, students, and faculty. I will suggest IIIT. Best wishes.

If you belong to the reserved categories like OBC/SC/ST then you can contact your community commission. They have schemes and provide freeship and scholarships to candidates belonging to their community. You may also do 'C' Certificate of Air Wing, it will help you in getting 40 hours of free-flying from any government flying club. Otherwise, the last resort is a loan from banks which almost everyone does.

After writing the PESSAT exam, the admission timeline depends on your program. For B.Tech, results are announced within 3-5 days, followed by counseling within a week, where admission is confirmed based on rank and seat availability. For other programs, results are declared within 3 days, and shortlisted candidates proceed with interviews or direct admissions. The process is efficient, and updates are provided promptly. Stay informed through the official PES University website for specific dates and procedures.
