Hi Lucky,
There are two different ways to become Income Tax officer one of the well known ways is to sit for Civil Service Examination as on most of the Senior positions in various Government Departments in India are selected through these examinations, second method would be appear for SSC and get selected for a lower level position i.e. Income Tax inspector and then reach the higher positions through promotions.
I would like to add her that to sit for these examinations you need to complete your graduation from a recognized University.
