The specialization branch that you choose should depend upon your the type of work/job/career you are involved in. If you are in a technical job then specialization in Operations or TPM or TQM wold be better. If you have been in the finance side then do specialization in Finance and/or Banking. HR is also a good subject.

Hi,
If he holds a master degree then there is no need to do any extra courses because for PhD programs Master degree is required in the relevant field , however if he is curious do do any course along with studies just to enhance the knowledge then there is no harm in this as well.
