Since I had many batchmates in Lovely Professional University for B.Tech. CSE program, so I can guide you better on the offering of LPU in terms of academic trends.
Let me just mention some of the worthwhile features of School of Computer Science & Engineering of LPU,
1. The CSE dept. of LPU has various tie-ups with Google, Pega, VMWARE,AUTOMATION ANYWHERE, INFORMATICA, COMPUTING TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (CompTIA) . The university has sate of the art labs with latest software to provide hands on practical exposure to students.
2. IITs and NITs are also appreciating campus wide facilities in terms of IT.
3. Online access to research journals, leading company annual reports and business dissertations with design analysis for ERP.
4. Design and Development of software and databases for data analysis.
5. Option to opt for industry relevant and industry delivered skills to enhance placement prospects.
6. Student driven activities for leadership and technological development
7. Software exhibitions on applications and research projects.
8. Back up and support by top companies for academics and curriculum like Microsoft, IBM, Cognizant etc.

Dear Vidhaan, Both are doing good but being alumni of LPU, I can share the details of LPU with you. LPU is spread over 600 acres of campus having 30000+ students and 3500+ faculty and staff. Many students come across the world which makes me feel like I'm in a foreign country. LPU offers more than 200+ programmes every year in different fields
Good Placement: Every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. A few of them are Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, etc. In which they are placed. The maximum package available for Engineering programme is 42 lacs. Per annum by 2020 pass-out batch. Scholarships: LPU provides very good scholarships to bright students with good academic records, sports, or extracurricular activities achievement. LPU also helps students in the Education loan facility. Faculty: All faculty members are well qualified from IITs, NITs, Iims, and top-ranked universities all over the world. Infrastructure: All the facilities are available on the campus itself, a student does not need to go outside for anything. Both the universities are good. If you get admission in one of them, choose your dream college looking for infrastructure, facilities. And, also ask to Senior students about that college.

Both are the same, but are located in different part of country. If you are comparing faculty, placement and other factors, then SRM Main campus is better than LPU.

If you are seeking admission in an engineering college, then I would like to suggest SRM-Chennai as first preference. It is one of the reputed private colleges. It is best in every context whether it is the environment, placement, fest, exposure or anything else. If we compare LPU with SRM then SRM-Chennai is better. Now, it's up to you as you have to clear its entrance exam. Good luck.

Both the universities are private and are well reputed with many facilities so I think you can take admission in any of the colleges. SRM is more popular than LPU.
