Hi Shreya,
If you have passed your 12th board then you can get admission in IIT or NIT for Integrated M.Sc or if you have cleared your B.Sc then you can go for JAM for only M.Sc in IIT. You can also choose some state government colleges.

Hello,
I don't say that year gap wouldn't affect your placements but they never stop you from going beyond. Very few companies wouldn't accept year gaps abiding to their policy but most of them don't hinder your job. So, I would say you to join a well known institute like Ramaiah where you'll be having a chance to get into some or the other company.

So, I would suggest you to take up your favourite course. But If your look from the point of placement Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics students are more placed compared to Mechanical and other branches.
