It is not so that only the MBBS students are eligible to go for this course, one with a background of medicine / related fields can opt for this course and have great career opportunities.

Supporting to what Suryap2012 has suggested, I too would advise you for SMU, however MDU also has a good and a recognized branch in offering distance education programs, but with concern to the market value, SMU seems better.
However if you are keen for a correspondence education, you can definitely look for IGNOU's program as a valuable option too.
