UK and US are the best study destination to pursue engineering and related courses:
In order to pursue undergraduate engineering course in UK ans US,you need to have:
12 years of education with good academic record preferably 60% plus in 12th.
Relevant 12th degree form recognized education board.
TOEFL score of 80-90 plus.
SAT score of 1600-1700 plus.
Please note that SAT score is required by universities in US only, universities in UK do not require SAT score.

Apply for the Admission tests held at the state level as well as separately fro AIIMS, PGI, etc. Private deemed universities have their own tests. However heavy donation is to be paid for a seat in private college.

The process for admission to DOMS, IIT Delhi is CAT followed by GDPI.
The candidate has to appear for CAT exam. Application for DOMS, IIT Delhi starts in january. Based on the CAT percentile, GDPI calls are given out. Eligible candidates appear for GDPI. Hi Soniya,
To appear for IAS Examination you need to have graduation from a recognized University, so if your friend has directly done M.Com and doesn't have M.Com it would not hold valid for IAS Examination. Infact he/she would face problems in other government sectors as well.

Economics is a very huge subject and a lot of depth of study goes into it but then it has to be completely your judgement and your call that will shall be the deciding factor for taking up this subject as an optional for study pupose.
However, If you are planning to write an exam taking Economics as an optional subject, if you have some prior knowledge of the subject, this will seem to benefit you well enough.
