As you have 6 years of work experience you can definitely go for this programme. However, you have not mentioned the kind of work experience you carry. In case your experience is of leadership or Managerial level then in that case you can also go for full time EMBA programme through various IIMs after appearing for CAT or GMAT in few cases. Reason being that regular programme will have better market value.
I would like to add here that part time programmes are generally suitable for those who are looking for a growth in their current organization itself.

So starting with media I would suggest you to go through the newspapers everyday and make a note of all the good articles or important news that you come across.
