If you choose PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths), you keep a lot of doors open. Engineering, architecture, defence, aviation, data science, research — all of these remain options. Even later, you can still move toward management or business if you want. So PCM gives flexibility.

But it comes at a cost. It's not easy. The syllabus is heavy, concepts are deep, and you need consistent effort. If you don't genuinely enjoy maths and physics, it can start feeling like a burden very quickly. Many students take PCM just because it sounds “strong, ” and then struggle because their interest lies elsewhere.

Now, if you take Commerce with Maths, your direction becomes clearer. You start learning about accounts, economics, business, finance — things that are directly connected to money and real-world systems. If you're someone who gets curious about businesses, markets, startups, or how companies run, commerce can feel more natural and interesting.

The workload, for many students, feels more application-based rather than abstract. But the trade-off is that you close certain doors. You won't be able to go into engineering or core Science fields later. So the flexibility is slightly less compared to PCM.

The real decision isn't about which stream is “better.” It's about which one matches your thinking style.

Ask yourself honestly:

• Do I enjoy solving numerical problems in physics and maths?

• Or do I enjoy understanding how businesses make profit and how money flows?

• Do I see myself building machines, software, or technical systems?

• Or do I see myself managing, planning, investing, or running a business?

If you are strong in Science and still unsure about your future, PCM keeps more options open.
If you are clear that you're inclined toward business, finance, or management, Commerce with Maths is a very sensible and focused choice.
