Firstly study some form of engineering or science, particularly with the following subjects:
Telecommunications
Electronics
Physics
Mathematics
You will probably want to be more engineering than computing, but of course computers and networking are heavily utilised. Fundamentally you should have aptitude for computing but I don't think any satellite communications companies will be focused on software engineers, practical hands on hardware is mostly what I dealt with. That being said, systems integrators do sometimes use software engineers to build complex earth station systems. It is possible to study satellite communications, or telecommunications engineering, either of these is fine. I didn't specifically study satellites or telecommunications however, telecommunications was just one course in my Bachelor's degree. In my career I don't think I ever met anyone with a Masters degree working in satellite operations, but I did meet one person with a Doctorate. He designed RF routers and was very well respected. Pure RF design is frankly Voodoo magic as far as many people are concerned. I like to think I understand the basics, but when you actually start going beyond the operational basics it becomes a black art and I highly respect those people that can do the weird, irrational mathematics. Once you have a qualification you can apply for a job at a communications company, a systems integrator or a product manufacturer.

The only basic requirements are the applicant should be in the final year of graduation to appear for CFA level 1, have an international credit card, and a valid passport. Also, he needs to complete graduation to appear for CFA level 2 and CFA level 3. Even if you clear CFA level 1 and decide to complete level 2 and level 3 later on in 5-6 years or more, your CFA level 1 result will be valid for lifetime.
