It's very interesting and nice to know that in spite of so many years that are gone since you studied your ITI, you are still interested in doing your B.Tech. However I am afraid with the present rules of the study in India you would be agebarred to join any normal college for regular studies. This makes only the distance education available for you. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about top Indian Institutes offering engineering graduation by distance mode of learning. https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/colleges/distance-correspondence-b-tech-colleges-india.

Hello Anurag,
Yes, you can get admission in any university/college in USA and specifically in California. Forget about your class 12th result. For undergraduate admission in US, you have to appear for SAT examination and for better scoring in English Proficiency Test you should go for TOEFL instead of IELTS since TOEFL is more accepted over IELTS in USA. Hope this helps you out, Good luck.

Biotechnology has better scope outside India. So, if you have interest in this principle rather do it from somewhere other than India (do research about it, if you're choosing a country). And you can be a Professor if you want to, by doing M.Sc. Ph.D. in zoology (for zoology).

My sincere advice to you would be that you do not indulge in any such activity but concentrate fully into your present studies. Try to learn the subject and not study only for the purpose of getting marks or passing exams. Learning the subjects in their entirety will make you a better person, a better engineer and this will help you in your career a great deal. There will be enough time after you pass out that you can pursue something different what you feel is required but presently it should be only your core competency, that is b e mechanical that you should study for understanding the subjects.
