Therefore food technology deals with the study of the physical, chemical and the microbiological aspects of food. The basic academic qualification required for admission to the undergraduate courses of study in food technology is successful completion of 10+2 school board examinations with Science as your chosen stream of study. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology must be compulsory subjects at the school level. For admission to the postgraduate programs in food technology, you must have a graduation degree in food technology.

-GATE Entrance Examination for admission to Food Technology courses
-CFTRI (Central Food Technological Research Institute entrance examination) for admission to the M.Sc course in food technology in CFTRI, Mysore
-AIJEE (All India Joint Entrance Examination) for admission to the B.Tech course of study in food technology. The state level JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) will also get you admission to the course.
-IICPT (Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology entrance examination) for admission to B.Tech and M.Tech courses of study in food process engineering.

There are many advantages of IATA Diploma because you learn the same subjects (majority) in your degree again, so it's an added advantage. So, you already know most of the things in advance that your counterparts don't know who have come after 12th standard.
Also, the competition for degree admission after doing diploma is comparatively less than degree admission after 12th.
There are no government reservations for diploma to degree admissions like OBC, ST, NT, VJ and backward classes. All such reservations do not come in your way.
You will never find female or girls' quota or handicap quota. You don't have to give any entrance exams for degree admissions but just the marks you scored in final year of diploma are considered for degree admissions. You can get a direct job after the completion of the diploma and it is recognized by every travel industry.
