Hi Preeti,
Students who successfully complete in New Zealand, a qualification that would qualify for points under the Skilled Migrant Category, may be granted an open work visa for a maximum of 12 months. (subject to their meeting some simple requirements). This is to enable them to search for a job.
Once the student has obtained work in this manner, she/he may then apply for either a post-study 2 year work permit or may directly apply for residency under the Skilled Migrant Category.
Gaining NZ residence after completing a NZ qualification and offer of employment is very easy as per the current policy norms.
