If you choose microbiology then your field will be limited and in biotechnology you field will be very big. If you want to make your career in biotechnology you can do Masters thorough the reputed college called IITs by giving one entrance exam called IIT JAM (To know the complete detail about the JAM you can visit: https://www.eduncle.com/iit-jam-exam). Thank you.

  • B.Sc. In biotechnology is a course that offers learning of various concepts of engineering to develop new products for benefit of mankind. B.Sc. In microbiology is a course that offers gaining knowledge and doing research related to different organisms. If a person wants to utilize their research for welfare of humans, they should opt for B.Sc. In biotechnology and if they only want to do research, they should go for B.Sc. In microbiology.
  • B.Sc Microbiology is a good scope as the name suggests it is the study of microbes without whom life is not possible. You will also get one subject as biotechnology, biochemistry in microbiology itself. Microbiology has ample of opportunities and better placement.

    Hello,
B.Sc Biotechnology and B.Sc. Microbiology courses are good. But to be more specific B.Sc. Biotechnology has more career opportunities than B.Sc. Microbiology. In fact, in B.Sc. Biotechnology, the topics related to Microbiology are covered. B.Sc. Biotechnology focuses on the Industrial area, management etc. Hope it helps.

Its mainly depends on you, if you like to technology part you should take biotech? You want to in lab and other part like that microbiology is good more oppurtunites are there for both microbiology have when compared to biotechnology.
  • Both the streams have their own scope and it depends on your interest that which stream you choose. But, I will suggest you B.Sc. Biotechnology because it has more scope than microbiology. Microbiology is a part of biotechnology only. So, you should opt for B.Sc. Biotechnology.
