Is CAT important to take admission in any MBA course?

    CAT is just a competitive exam, which is been organized by IIMs and most of the top B-Schools follow it. So, it is not necessary to go for CAT, if you want to do MBA. Every college have their own selection criteria, like XLRI have XAT etc. So, it is not necessary, but as you said it is important to get one among the top B-Schools.

    Few colleges have their own entrance exams like SNAP (for Symbiosis), IIFT XAT (for XLRI). CAT is needed to get admission into Iims.

    Yes, CAT is must for most of the institutes. Doon Business School, Dehradun ranks 4th in the country for value for money quality education. The placements are decent and the highest package offered last year was INR 22.5 LPA. DBS accepts CAT scores.

    No, there are various other management entrance exams which are accepted by various B-Schools which includes NMAT, SNAP TISSNET MHCET and XAT, but if you want to join IIM or FMS then you have to write CAT.

    No, CAT is only required for colleges like IIMS,. Some colleges like Symbiosis, IIFT, NMIMS, Xavier's Thales have separate test such as SNAP, IIFT, NMAT, XAT MAT etc. You can give those test and get admission in any MBA college.
