    CAT is the entrance exam for admission into the Iims and several others B-schools in the country. It is important to give CAT but apart from CAT there are other entrance exam for admission into prestigious B-schools are
    XAT ( XLRI, XIMB, IMT and many more), NMAT NMIMS, Mumbai), SNAP (Symboisis colleges), MAT (IILM University, Gururgam, Apeejay Business School and many more) CMAT (JBIMS, Great Lakes, and many more) etc. For more information about the colleges and entrance exam details, please go through the websites.     For IIMs and IITs and other top institutes, CAT score is important. Some other institutes accept other entrance exam scores like MAT SNAP XAT CMAT.

    It depends on the B-schools you want to join because it differs from college to college, likewise in IIM, it is totally based on CAT scores. Whereas, some colleges consider CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, etc.

    Yes, it is one of the most important examinations to get admission in best B-schools of India. IIMs take admission on the basis of CAT percentile only. Other private institutions like IFMR, GLIM, etc. also consider CAT, XAT and CMAT for the same.

    Yes, CAT is important. Based on CAT scores you will be getting government jobs, IT field jobs too.

    No, there are other exams as well like XAT for XLRI and XIMB - Bhubaneswar. There is SNAP for Symbiosis - Pune. Some institutes in India have started accepting GMAT as well. SP Jain - Mumbai is one such college. You can also go for state specific MBA entrance exams like CMAT. There are numerous options available for MBA aspirants.

    There are many entrance exams to take admission for MBA course. But, CAT is important as most of the colleges accept CAT score for admission.

    No, it is not necessary, but if you want to take admission in a good college to pursue MBA, than you have to appear for CAT exam.
