CAT is important if you want to get enroll in top MBA colleges. But, apart from that many colleges have their own entrance exams such as XAT for XLRI, CET for colleges in Maharashtra, SNAP for symbiosis, NMAT for NIMIMS institutes, etc.

    Hi,
CAT is not the only entrance exam for MBA. There are other exams like MAT, CMAT, etc. CAT is mostly important for the ones, who have a craze to get into the India top institutes like IIMs, FMS – Delhi, etc.

During your graduation, you can join TIME or any top institute for CAT preparation. You should improve verbal, numerical, logical, reasoning, vocab and GK.

If you pursue MBA from an IIM (and some top non-IIMs), then CAT is important. Else, you can also give NMAT, CMAT, SNAP, XAT, etc. to get into some of the other best b-schools.

Generally all good colleges accept students based on merit of some entrance exam. These can be CAT/GRE/ GMAT (in general) and NMAT or SNAP (for specific institutes).
So, if you are aiming for MBA in any specific college, prepare according to their requirement.
