Some renowned colleges prefer SNAP (Symbiosis) and XAT (Xavier's). But, CAT is also important examination. It is depending on which college you are enrolling yourself with. All the best.

No, it is not mandatory to get MBA only through CAT exam. You can even go for CMAT JAT and other individual colleges' exams.

Yes, CAT is an important exam to get into IIMs for MBA. It is the only exam to get into MBA course for IIMs. IIMs give weightage to 10-12th percentage + CAT percentile + what/PI performance + any work experience for selecting a candidate. There are many other colleges which consider CAT scores to offer admissions. Check the below link-

CAT is important, only if you want to pursue MBA in IIMS. Apart from that, you can choose other exams like MAT, XAT, ATMA etc.

    Hello,
AT is one of the important entrance exams TO GET admission in an MBA course. However, there are other national and state level exams like:
    1. XAT conducted by Xaviers Institute.
    2. SNAP is conducted by Symbiosis University.
    3. NMAT by GMAC council.
    4. For NMIMS and other colleges, IIFT exam is conducted.
    5. CMAT is conducted by AICTE.
10-12th percentage + CAT percentile + what/PI performance + any work experience for selecting a candidate. There are many other colleges which consider CAT scores to offer admissions. Check the below link-

No, some colleges have their own entrance exams like SNAP (for Symbiosis), IIFT XAT (for XLRI), and Maharashtra CET (for top colleges in Maharashtra through CET). CAT is important to get admission into IIMS, IITs, and other top colleges.
