Not totally. It depends. If you want to get admission in IIM's,you should take a Common Admission Test. Most of all the B-Schools in India consider CAT Score. There are other national level exams like CMAT, NMAT, SNAP, XAT, MAT etc. Generally in top B-schools score of CAT and GMAT is considered. Good luck!

Not for all colleges. Some colleges have their own tests like IBS has its own IBSAT. And GDPI is common test for all.

Yes, it is an important exam if you want to take admission for MBA in IIMs and other good business schools. It is a computer-based test and contains both MCQ and Non-MCQ questions.

No, It is not if you want to get into colleges other Iims, IITs and other government funded institutions. The main point is if you wish to appear for an entrance test that is nationally accepted by all the institutions. Please appear CAT for that single reason. If you are interested in other colleges which are specific to Symbiosis group you can go for SNAP.

It depends on your preference of your college. If you want to pursue MBA from top colleges like IIM's, FMS, IITs CAT is mandatory. But, there are colleges which accept state CETS or their own entrance tests.

You may look up for the list of such colleges if not planning to ahead with CAT and such institutions are too almost equally the best ones.
Also, if both the option of CAT and college level entrance are strike off on your list then there are certain private regional colleges that offer the course without really asking for any entrance level test but on th
