Shiksha Ask & Answer
GIRISH SESHAMANI

Guide-Level 11

Your top priority should be to identify the function, where you will fit in, as in, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources or Operations. You need to list down your skill sets and then match it with the function, which requires your skills. Having been a CAT trainer, for over 15 years, I see lot of students getting carried away by salaries and entering the wrong function. They begin to relaize very soon, that they are not cut out, for that function. Once you make this mistake, it is very difficult, to get your career back on track. A person is paid for his skill and not his qualification.
