There is no best or 2nd best course. You must choose a course based on your area of interest, your precious background and most importantly what you intend to do in the future. If you are more interested in numbers, then finance and operations should be good for you, however if you feel more people oriented then HR and marketing should be for you, if you are from IT background then you must choose IT. You must also look at how your seniors do as per stream and choose a stream where placements are decent because at the end of your course you will be needing that campus placement. You can choose to take up certifications like CFA which will add weight to your profile and also open up avenues for off campus jobs.

Hi,It is totally depends upon your keen interest in the field and you have to first introspect yourself and you have to decide to go for which course. Now come to the point that which course you should go for in my opinion you can go for the mechanical B.Tech from SRM because MNC's and many other top organization do visit for the campus and placements for the students and its ranking is among top 20 institutes (private) in India, if you have interest in mechanical branch, you can definitely go for it. Now, for B.Tech aeronautical engineering, if you have interest in it, you can go for it from MIT Manipal or SRM Chennai too provide education in aeronautical engineering, you can again choose SRM for it. Or, if you want to go for MIT Manipal, it is also a good ranked a good educational institutes you can decide now in which field and institute you want to join. Cheers.
