Although computer science students almost have all the work to be done in office whereas civil aspirants have their work in the construction sites as well as on the paperwork regarding designs and structures of the towers. So one can find a large scope in India as well as in foreign.

Just as I have been dealing with each and every question related to foreign placements, a college can only play a small part in fetching you a foreign placement by attracting some of the foreign companies to their college during the placement season, but they are just a few in number.
Other than that, considering the multinational companies, their decision to make you work at which job location is based on many internal factors, although they do give your option a little preference.
The factors being, vacancy in the job location of your choice, the projects going on at the job location that matches your profile and the company's requirement.
Now to answer your question, yes, there are a number of students getting placed abroad every year, but they are the ones having extraordinary profiles.
Simply a National Institute of Technology cannot guarantee you a job abroad.

As we are aware that the world is fast moving towards automation and that there will be a lot of field that would require 'intelligence' in machines. So, keeping that into perspective, fields like computer Science and information technology will be growing upwards in the coming years. To add to that, there will be subjects like machine learning, data analytics, internet of things etc. That will become a part of the curriculum. It is imperative that any engineering aspirant understands that a stream that does not have components which enable him to learn about automation and artificial intelligence is going to face the music. Therefore there should be a clear emphasis on pursuing these"subjects" as part of the streams one is pursuing.

The placement from TNAU for food processing engineering is not up to the mark as the placement from agricultural as well as farm related streams. The companies are definitely visiting the campus but students getting placed in the stream are not even around 80%.
As a gesture of advice, it is more worth to take admission in private institute from CSE or IT which will going to reward you more than the requested college and stream. For the food processing, engineers are hired by the company for testing the quality and to find the cost cutting measures to manufacture a quality product but this stream is unable to find a major scope and for this purpose, companies prefer hiring the students from foreign universities.
From TNAU, the average placements are 3 lakhs and highest may getting upto 6 lakhs.
