Hi Tanyaa,
Although, enhancing your Educational qualification is always beneficial but for M.Com you need to spend two years as in India M.Com degree is of two years duration. However, you can either opt for some part time job which will be add on in your profile or go for PG Diploma programmes.

In order to pursue MS in Canada you need to fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria:
Relevant undergraduate degree from recognized university, in 10+2+4 years of education pattern.
Good academic record throughout preferably 60% plus in graduation.
GRE score of 1100-1200 plus and TOEFL score of 80-90 plus or IELTS score of 6-7 bands plus.
Universities in Canada have 2 admission intakes in a year i.e. Fall (August) and Spring (January) Intake. So first of all you need to decide in which intake you want admission, and then accordingly start your application process at least 6-7 months in advance, it is always advisable to take

If you want to get into Fashion Merchandising I would suggest you to join a Diploma or a PG Diploma programme in Fashion Merchandising. Most fashion institutes like NIFT, Pearl Academy, INIFD, JD Institute etc. run a course in fashion merchandising. These courses are offered to graduates. There are several Institutes providing MBA through Distance learning, however, if you are looking for one year programme through IGNOU then it would a PG Diploma in a specific field like Finance, HR, and Operations etc. You can also check with Symbiosis for such PG Diploma programmes. If you want to do MBA, it would be of two years in most of the institutes even through correspondence.

I will always suggest higher studies over staring a career. Once she starts her job, she will not be able to take a break or leave it to go for higher studies. Doing PG will give her a better job with higher prospects and status.
