If you really want to prepare for UPSC then i think first of all you should join some good coaching centers and you also have to prioritize your time as UPSC is a very tough entrance and requires a lot of hard wok. So along with your coaching classes you need to do a lot of self study because you should have a good knowledge on GK and current affairs and as mentioned by you that your interest lyes in history and Sociology, i would suggest you to give equal time both the subjects as both the subjects are equally.
