Merit scholarships: People who excel in academically are awarded a scholarship on the basis of their overall academic achievement.

CAT and XAT are two management entrance exams. Candidates aiming at top MBA institutes in India, apply for Common Admission Test (CAT) and Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). CAT is a test held annually for the admission to the Post-graduate and Fellow Programs in management programs of several management institutes in India including top business management schools like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kolkata, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore , IIM Bangalore, FMS New Delhi, JBIMS Mumbai , SPJIMR Mumbai and IMT Ghaziabad etc. .CAT is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) and on the basis of CAT result that the eligible candidates are short listed and called for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
XAT is conducted by Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI), an association of institutes. There are 16 core member institutes and more than 85 associate institutes located in different parts of the country. Qualifying candidates move on to next rounds of GD/PI. XAT is considered to be the toughest management entrance exam.
The score in both the exams is on the basis of percentile.

Admission into medical school in USA may not technically require completion of a previous degree; however, applicants are usually required to complete at least 3 years of "pre-med" courses at the university level because in the US medical degrees are classified as Second entry degrees (EB2). Once enrolled in a medical school, the course of study is divided into two roughly equal components: pre-clinical (consisting of didactic courses in the basic sciences) and clinical (clerkships consisting of rotations through different wards of a teaching hospital). The degree granted at the conclusion of the four years of study is Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), depending on the medical school; both degrees allow the holder to practice medicine after completing an accredited residency program.
Thus MD from USA is equal to MBBS in India. MD/PhD is a degree conferred to an individual who has completed the medical education program for a physician (M.D.) and the training for a scientific researcher (Ph.D.)

Each state has its own syllabus for judicial services exam; which includes all central acts like I.P.C, Cr.P.C,Evidence, C.P.C.,Constitution etc as well as some local laws of that state like Land laws, Excise, accommodation and rent etc. For the preparation please be thorough with all the reading material and books on the above mentioned. It would also be a good idea to attempt old papers on this as well which are available off the shelf in various book stores.
