Software Testing is a the process of validating and verifying that a software program/product meets the business and technical expectations, and can be implemented easily. Data Base on the other hand, is a collection of data in an organized form for one of multiple users. Both are very much different and as for the difficulty level is concerned, it depends on your capabilities and interests entirely. Testing involves coding and analysis so if you are comfortable with the same then you can surely take it through.
