In order to pursue Phd, from USA, you need to first of all make a list of the universities that you aspire for, then send emails to respective course department, asking them to provide you the eligibility criteria and selection procedure for PHD students.
It may take three to six years to complete your PHD, depending on the field you select and your mentor.
The general eligibility criteria for PHD students are as follows :
In majority of the institutes, Master's Degree is an essential pre-requisite for a Ph.D. while others admit graduates too.
It is important that you have good scores in common entrance tests such as GRE and English Language examinations like TOEFL.
Internships or other work experience will add to your qualifications

First of all do not ponder over it much. You have ample fields to try. But I would suggest you to take the one wherein you possess keen interest and passion. You can go for short term courses which are professional in nature like Tourism, Hospitality, Fashion Designing, Air/Railway Ticketing, Computer Language, etc.
I personally believe what matters is you should be happy. If you'll take something that is not your cup of tea, it would eventually result in disaster. Take help from your faculty in school who would help your parents understand the point.
You can analyze the various opportunities available and select the right path based on your personal criteria which should include:
*The interest and aptitude towards the subject
*Interest to get a job
*The future Demand for the particular program

I would say that whichever college you studying, would surely assist you with companies for your training as OJT (On-the-job-training) is a mandatory part of curriculum for all professional programs.
Apart from the assistance that your college might provide, I would suggest you to keep a track of IT companies and also regularly make individual efforts so as not to loose in the end. Well there are good number of IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Cisco, HCL, Satyam and many more that take students for training process.
