QA is all about finding bugs before they get to the customer. Companies that make mission-critical or life-saving software, of course, take bugs very seriously and invest heavily in finding them. These are good QA jobs.
There are also commercial software companies that are ISO 9001 certified for software development and who develop high-quality software because their customers are willing to spend the extra money to pay for software that has been carefully tested. Companies that push software out the door as fast as possible because the software has new features already sold and promised ahead of time usually have very poor QA. These are bad QA jobs. These too are good QA jobs.
However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The new push toward Test-Driven Development (TDD) puts the responsibility for quality back onto the workers who should be responsible for it: the developers. If they can't write software with built-in quality tests, then they must push back on software engineering managers to prototype.

Hi,
Being a Java J2EE developer for more than 3 years, what I understood from my experience is that, there are still wider/ larger scope for these technologies.
If you are pretty good in the most basic concepts of Java (abstraction, polymorphism, inheritance, naming conventions etc. ) you would find it easier to learn and grasp other technologies, which is an added advantage for Java developers.
However, once you are inside an organisation as a Java developer, you would find too many Java resources surrounding you ( which is a bitter truth obviously :) ). So, to stand out of the crowd, it would be always helpful to learn or to to get into project works on Java frameworks such as Structs, Spring, Hibernate, ATG etc.
Also, UI look and feel for web based applications are given predominant considerations nowadays. So don't ever loose a chance where you are getting chances to closely work with UI frameworks.
I was telling these based out of my short experience till date in IT field. Please be updated and be in pace with evolving industry, keeping in mind the fact that ' Change is inevitable' :)

According to me, Game design and development is much better as compare to 3DS Max, because by learning any software you can't give great output, for a great output, you have to work on your things in some manner and you should decide some goal so for that you can choose Game design and development.
There is a vast difference between learning a tool and learn to using that tool for your own work, if you will learn how to use any tool for your own work, you will be able to complete your work in a proper manner or if you are focusing only tool, then you will not be able to work beyond that. By learning only 3DS Max, you are making your own limits. But, to survive or to create something you should learn how to use 3DS Max or any other software for your own concept.
So, go through Game Design and Development and learn the way to use tools, not only the tool by that you can execute your own ideas and thoughts. And by learning 3DS Max, you can do so many work, but that also will be limited, because you will not be able to draw the things in that and you will not be able to make any video and present your own thoughts.

Two different domains that cannot be compared. It's like comparing apples and oranges. While software testing involves finding errors in a software programme and ensuring it delivers to certain benchmarks, networking involves setting up, administration and management of a network infrastructure. Both have their pros and cons. While networking has been in the market for a long time, it provides an evergreen job opportunity with, however, not-so-decent salary package. On the other hand, Software Testing ensures a better salary package. However, the market is currently over-saturated with software testers. Hence, the job prospect is currently unpredictable.
