First, it is brought out that the concept of lateral entry is there in engineering colleges but this concept is not available for entry into a B.Sc course. This is so since after 10th, there is a possibility of going for a 3-year Diploma course followed by 3-years engineering by lateral entry thus making it a 6-year programme after 10th before one can graduate as an engineer. (10+3+3), same years if one takes engineering via normal route (10+2+4). However, this facility is not available for B.Sc students hence it's a simple course of three years after 12th. It is to be remembered that hardware and networking are actually specialisations in the study of engineering and not available in detail during the study of B.Sc. Yes, it is a crucial fact that now the IT students are showing unwillingness to join the companies like TCS, Infosys, and Accenture as a part of mass recruiting. The following could be the possible reason:
(#) Now, the IT students want to choose the field and specialize in it. In the companies like TCS and Infosys, they hire the IT graduates in bulk. Hence, some of the IT students may not get the desired designation. And thus, they find it difficult to adapt in that culture.
(#) In bulk recruitment, there is no individual growth. Company finds very hard to monitor over the performance of every individual and so, individual development is almost negligible. This is also the biggest reason that IT students are not considering Mass recruiters as their job destination.
Apart from that, various factors like salary, ethical & work culture etc. are the reasons due which the IT students are not going to Mass recruiters.
