First, it is brought out that the concept of lateral entry is there in engineering colleges but this concept is not available for entry into a B.Sc course. This is so since after 10th, there is a possibility of going for a 3-year Diploma course followed by 3-years engineering by lateral entry thus making it a 6-year programme after 10th before one can graduate as an engineer. On January 19 2016, UGC said that its consultations regarding allowing students to pursue two degrees simultaneously, have not received a positive response so far. Therefore, legally, you cannot pursue B.Sc. IT and B.Com simultaneously from same university or different universities. B.Com and B.Sc.
