First, it is brought out that the concept of lateral entry is there in engineering colleges but this concept is not available for entry into a B.Sc course. This is so since after 10th, there is a possibility of going for a 3-year Diploma course followed by 3-years engineering by lateral entry thus making it a 6-year programme after 10th before one can graduate as an engineer. (10+3+3), same years if one takes engineering via normal route (10+2+4). However, this facility is not available for B.Sc students hence it's a simple course of three years after 12th.
