CAT really requires a very hard work, as well as all about your personality and how you present yourself. Both are good stream, MBA as well as CS. It depends upon your interest, find out your weakness and work on it accordingly, and it doesn't mean you are an average student. Many students with less than 70% marks crack CAT and CS.

The pattern of the paper was broadly the same as last year.
These are the few irregularities I observed:
This year, the single correct questions were asked as the matrix match type questions. Usually matrix match type of questions consist of two columns, but this year, it had three columns.
One maths question in Paper 2 had none of the options correct and will most likely be awarded as bonus.
Paper 2 (especially Physics) was considerably more difficult than Paper 1. Generally, both the papers are of similar difficulty level.
Detailed Analysis:
Marks distribution by grade:
Key Takeaway: More weight is given to the 12th grade chapters compared

It depends on many factors. A list of the following will give you a clear picture.
1.Interest: As you pointed out you want to do CS (Computer Science) if you are really sure about it. I would say go for diploma in a very good college. The quality of Diploma education is not great as it used to be 10-12 years ago. so, if diploma- choose a good college.
2. College: As I told you if you want to do a Diploma, good college is a must, track record, labs, faculty etc. must be taken into account.
* If you take diploma, you will get an entry in a good Engineering college at the state level. But, you will gravely miss out on IITs, NITs, and other n

According to me, CSE has more scope than chemical. So you actually go for CSE in NITK instead of chemical. It also depends on your interests. Please don't choose a branch depending on the college. It's your branch in which you will build your career ahead, so choose wisely.

B.Tech in CSE will give you more exposure towards software as well as hardware of computers. And, IT will only focuses on software. So, recruiters will mostly hire students from CSE over IT. So, I will suggest you to opt for B.Tech in CSE at NIT-Surathykal. All the best.

Yes, you are eligible for getting a seat to pursue CSE. Your scores in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced are good enough but some universities take their own entrance tests as well so for those universities you have to check their criteria to get admission.

So, let me start off with the basic mantra. Before reading this blog you must make it clear, if GATE is a passion for you. Maybe GATE is not. But, definitely an IIT could change your life. So, it is the first and the most important thing to be focused. Make your goal clear.
